  • Bilfinger Berger signed up as genereal contractor
  • LEED certification planned for BBC 1 Plus

Bratislava, 26 January 2011 – CA IMMO officially started construction works on the new office complex called Bratislava Business Center 1 Plus (BBC 1 Plus), which is located centrally in the business district of the capital city of Slovakia. The project was launched at the Groundbreaking Ceremony, held on the site of BBC 1 Plus. The office complex was introduced by main representatives of participating companies: Bernhard H. Hansen, CTO of the property investment company CA Immo; Ludger Koch, managing director of Bilfinger Berger, the general contractor; Klaus Weichselbaum, representative of Austrian Raiffeisen Landesbank Niederösterreich-Wien, the financing bank; Dušan Pekár, Mayor of Ružinov city district and BOGÁR KRÁLIK URBAN architects.

„Slovakia is one of the Group's main markets, we are present in Bratislava since 10 years with our standing investment Bratislava Business Center (BBC). In order to strengthen the office destination of the existing Bratislava Business Center, we started construction work of the extension to the building in December recent year. In total, CA Immo will invest 32 million € in this development project,” said Bernhard H. Hansen. He also added that CA IMMO was very happy that Bilfinger Berger has signed up as general contractor and the Austrian Raiffeisen Landesbank Niederösterreich-Wien as financing partner for the project. „With partners like this, a successful realization of this project is assured,” continued Bernhard H. Hansen.

The BBC 1 Plus will be constructed as a sustainable building and thus comply with specific ecological targets. CA Immo plans to support the eco-concept of the office complex by gaining LEED certification for the structure. “There is a coming era of environmentally conscious real estate owners and tenants. Consumers´ demand is becoming more eco-focused. As a result, the buildings which miss an eco-friendly concept might be sold or leased with difficulties in the future. Therefore, the significance of ecological certificates as a testimony of sustained quality will play even bigger role,” explained Ludger Koch.

The complex creates an extension with a seamless connection to the existing Bratislava Business Center 1. The building takes full advantage of its location in a developed business zone. BBC 1 Plus is a modern A Class office building comprising a 13-storey office tower located in the most dynamically developing areas of Bratislava. „Viewing Jarabinkova Street, it creates a strong and unique architectural accent, a strikingly eye-catching feature clearly visible from the main traffic artery of Prievozska Street“ added Michal Bogár of Architects BOGÁR URBAN KRÁLIK.

The BBC 1 Plus provides A class office spaces in whole rentable area of some 15,900 sqm. Floor plans can be modified according to tenants´needs, they enable either large-scale open-space offices or divided spaces with an optimised module. Other benefits of BBC 1 Plus are a comprehensive and comfortable technical background, high quality facility management services, permanent security guide service, parking spaces inside the building, and sufficiency of commercial services within the object, in the whole business zone, and in the near surroundings.
